FOR SALE: 1968 Ford Mustang
A person\'s age is a good predictor of the classic cars they enjoy. A 70-year-old might aspire to owning a \'57 Bel Air and a 45-year-old might like a Trans Am. A 60\'s Mustang however has fans of all ages and transcends the ages. Kids in high school to their grandparents would love to own this handsome 1968 coupe. Considering that even a 2013 Mustang follows this car\'s earliest design themes, this process might be never ending. And if you want one, it might as well be in red, like ours. Our \'68 model here carried forward some careful design changes from the initial models. These cars were slightly larger and exterior enhancements included concavetaillights, that cowl scoop, and a tasteful swath of chrome running down the sides. That red paint has polished up nicely and looks great going down the road, just like the rest of our Ford. That is similarity true for both the glass and the chrome. It appears that whenever the paint was applied the chrome was restored as well. Also notice a trim light white pin stripe running nose to tail to tastefully enhance the Mustang\'s exterior presentation. The car\'s red interior adds nicely to the rest of the Mustang\'s \"arrest me red\" image. The vinyl seats show some evidence of normal use but it is an attractive patina that has aged gracefully. Interior color contrast is provided by Ford\'s use of deeper tones along the door panels and dash board. That dash is a mix of functional original and Phantom fuel, oil pressure and water temperature gauges that have been neatly snuggled into the original openings. Another more recent addition is the Vintage Sound AM/FM radio nicely mounted in the dash and the LeCarrera steering wheel feels great in your hands. OK, so the trunk mat isn\'t totally stock, but it\'s definitely nice to see a full-sized matching Torque Thrust spare back there. Reviewing the business end, you\'ll find a C-code 289. The mostly stock engine does have an MSD electronic ignition along with other performance enhancements including ceramic long tube headers and a Holly barrel carb atop an aluminum intake. It all sounds great exhaling through the freshly installed Flowmaster exhaust system. Power steering is part of our Ford\'s equipment and even though this is a relatively small car, manual steering can become a chore rather quickly. That V8 power is delivered to the rear wheels via a smooth shifting 3-speed automatic transmission and a rugged 9-inch rear hanging on a set of air shocks so the ride and handling can be fine-tuned. The floors and chassis are solid, befitting a southern car that\'s never seen inclement weather, and nothing looks better than vintage Torque Thrusts with BFG radials at all four corners. So, if you are ready to relive your childhood or have never left it, this is your chance to drive one of the most appealing cars ever built. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Charlotte showroom. For more information, please call (704) 598-2130 or toll free (866) 542-8392.
