This 1966 Thunderbird convertible was purchased from a dealer about eight to ten years ago. He told us that the previous owner had it painted and a new top installed. This car has been garaged since we have owned it and has been well maintained. It has always passed strict safety requirements for the State of Utah and was just inspected March 2013.

When you drive this car down the road you will get plenty of attention. Not only does it look great but it sounds great with that throaty sexy roar. This car has been to many car shows since we have owned it and has been a winner many times. It runs and drives great.

During the time we have owned the car we installed a re-built 428 ci big block engine with dual carburetors and a re-built automatic transmission. The engine is beautiful and has plenty of chrome to make it an eye stopper. Please note that the numbers do not match and the air conditioning was removed when the 428 was installed. We also replaced the exhaust pipes and mufflers, springs, and shocks. The wheels and wheel covers were also replaced with chrome wire wheels which really adds to the beauty of the car.

The convertible top mechanism works and the black top folds neatly into the trunk. I’ve added a few pictures showing how this works, but they were taken before we added the new wire wheels. We don’t usually put the top up as we prefer driving with it down as quite frankly it looks gorgeous that way. This has the original 8 track player and radio. The radio works (not always with a lot of volume) on a few stations but the 8 track is tricky and only works once in a while. A lot of 8 track tapes come with it.

The tonneau cover is easy to remove and lightweight. There is a full backseat and the black vinyl upholstery is in good condition. The same goes for the front seats but the foam padding does need to be replaced on both bucket seats. T-Bird floor mats are included. Overall the interior shows well.

It has power steering, power disc brakes, and a power drivers seat. Also unique are the sequential tail lights and swing away wheel. The passenger door needs to be adjusted and the deck lid needs repainted. There are also some minor chips in the hood paint. The paint color is Palomino.
