This 1958 BMW Isetta 300 . It is equipped with a 4 Speed Manual transmission. The vehicle is Red with a Cream interior. It is offered As-Is, not covered by a warranty. - 1958 BMW Isetta 300 Chassis No. 509694 Engine No. 509694 Recent thorough Restoration A complete Numbers-Matching Example Ready to Show or Just for Fun! Specs: 13 hp, 295 cc BMW four-stroke single-cylinder engine, four-speed manual transmission, swing-arm independent front suspension, semi-elliptic leaf spring rear suspension, and hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 58 The iconic Isetta bubblecar began life in Italy, a product of Iso, SpA., maker of refrigerators and motor scooters. Introduced in Turin in November 1953, it stunned the public with its front-opening door and bubble-inspired shape. The most prolific producer of Isettas, however, turned out to be BMW in Germany, which began production in April 1955 using a 247 cc motorcycle engine of their own manufacture. Re-engineering was so complete that no parts actually interchanged with the Italian predecessor, but the basic design remained true to the Isetta idea. In 1956, sliding side windows replaced earlier bubble units, and engine displacement was increased to 295 cc, with the resulting car named Isetta 300. As the recipient of a complete body-off-frame restoration, this absolutely stunning example is suitable for any show arena or just a fun drive. The desirable US Export, sliding-glass coupe presents beautifully in classic red over a cream and red piped bench with proper grey surrounds and top. During the restoration, the Isetta was fully disassembled and stripped to bare metal. Every single item was either replaced or repainted. The shell, including wheel wells and undercarriage were painstakingly smoothed and refinished beyond factory standards. All brightwork, including bumpers, trim and emblems were replaced with new equipment. All original glass and signal lenses were preserved in the process, along with other original components. The BMW is still retains its original numbers-matching motor (a rare occurrence in Isettas), completely rebuilt like-new. With its easy startup, effortless acceleration and smooth shifting, this example is hands down one of the best driving 300\'s we have ever come across. These fantastic little machines continue to bring incredible record-breaking prices at auction, earning their status as respected classic collectibles - for the microcar enthusiast, this is an opportunity not to be missed. $39,500 or Best Offer To learn more about this vehicle, please contact our sales department at (281) 497-1000 or #####@####.### Selling Made Simple.
