1957 BEL AIR Custom Show Car
Tri-Five Chevy’s are beautiful classic cars. This particular one has been done up to the extreme. Let’s start with the chassis and suspension. Up front a late seventies Camaro front clip has been grafted into the original frame, complete with a close ratio steering box, wildwood disc brakes and 225/60R15 tires . In the rear we have a bulletproof ford 9” four link setup with wildwood disc brakes and 29X15.50-15LT Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires. Originally a 454 BBC with a small roots style blower resided under the hood as the heart of the drivetrain. For a less temperamental and more reliable solution it now has a Pat Musi Special 555 Edelbrock. That’s right 555 fuel injected cubic inches of pure awesomeness. The engine uses Edelbrock’s Pro Flo II fuel injection sytem. It has been professionally tuned to put out over 700 HP. There is a massive Griffin aluminum radiator with electric fans keeping everything cool. Fuel is handled by a magnafuel fuel pump, aeromotive filters, aeromotive pressure regulator, and all supply and return lines are plumbed with stainless braided lines and AN fittings. The exhaust is a full stainless 3” system with magnaflow mufflers and electric cut outs. The transmission is a professionally built Turbo 400 control by a B&M shifter. A full array of gauges reside in a custom hand built dash and center console. The body is covered in a one of kind custom paint job, a heavy metal flake orange base with deep burgundy purple marblelized flames outlined with silver pin striping. There are also skulls air brushed inside the flames. The door handles were shaved and now use electronic door poppers, there is a manual back up in case of a dead battery. The headlights have been upgraded to modern style bulbs to put light on the road for night time driving. The liscense plate bracket is motorized unit which works by remote, so it will tuck in under the car out of sight when at the car shows. The interior of this car is all out custom. The dash, center console, and overhead console were all hand fabricated from steel and treated to the same meticulous paint job as the rest of the car. The front seats are fully adjustable electric units. Interior upholstery is a cream leather with crocodile inserts which flows all the way through the trunk. The sound system consists of a Kenwood remote controlled cd player, with Eclipse speakers, subs, and amplifier which by the way sounds awesome. This car won 1st place at the World Of Wheels Show in New Orleans several years ago, just for perspective of how much effort has been put into this vehicle. And if you wanted to take this car to your local track a run a couple passes you could expect to run a high ten second quarter mile. Everything on this car is structurally sound and practically like new. The only reason I am letting it go is to make room in my collection which has grown much faster than anticipated. It needs a good home and someone that will appreciate it. I am asking $75,000 firm for this car. I have much more than this invested in it yet I understand I can’t expect recoup my full investment but I believe this to be a very reasonable price for a car of this caliber. I know for a fact this car could not be built over again for this price, not even close. If you have any questions at all please feel free to ask. Serious inquiries only.
Thanks for looking!
