FOR SALE: Two owners, Excellent Condition, Low Mileage

To many connoisseurs the Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars of the
Fifties and early Sixties were the last cars displaying the
traditional craftsmanship for which Rolls-Royce had become
world-famous. Their separate chassis allowed an uncommon
elegance of coachwork design.

First introduced in 1955, the Bentley S-Type (retrospectively
known as the S1) was a larger car than the R-Type that it
replaced, which was really a late \'40s design from the steel
rationing era. The S1\'s power came from an enlarged version of
the R-Type\'s six cylinder, overhead inlet/side valve exhaust type
head, now of 4887cc which propelled the car on to 120 mph with
the 0-60 dash completed in 12.9 seconds. Early cars were
available with manual transmission, however most cars had a
four speed automatic gearbox, power steering was only available
from 1956 which was much needed.

The beautiful shape of the S1 used the car\'s length to its full
advantage, with the interior featuring all of the usual
appointments expected in a Bentley.

The present car was purchased from the first owner
approximately in 1974 in London England, and was shipped to
the US in1980. Both body and engine are in an excellent
condition with extremely low mileage (below 47,650 miles). The
exterior is finished in silver and black, the interior with
burgundy House of Lord Connolly hide upholstery along with
elegant wood finish. Since before and after purchase it has been
garaged, therefore no rust which is common for automobiles of
its age.
