FOR SALE: 1955 Chevrolet 210
Wondering what a new 1955 Chevy might feel like today? This lovely 210 hardtop was restored to a very high standard in 1998, and shockingly enough, wasn\'t stuffed full of small block V8. Instead, it offers a very genuine feel, complete with Blue Flame Six for motivation, and will be a pleasant surprise to the owner and show-goers as well. The honest look of any old car that hasn\'t been modified or \"upgraded\" is often refreshing in the sea of resto-mods. Go to any cruise night and you\'ll see row after row of cars with chrome engines and fat alloy wheels, but not so many like this code 682 India Ivory over Cashmere Blue 210 hardtop. The sheetmetal is nice and straight, and you can count me among those who think the clean \'55 is the best looking of the shoeboxes. The paint has a soft shine that looks more 1955 than 2005, so the entire car takes you back in time when you see it. Chrome and trim were expertly restored, so that means bright bumpers and grille, straight body side moldings, and nicely executed badges on the nose and deck. The two-tone blue cloth interior also offers a low-key, honest look you\'ll appreciate. The cloth material is cooler and more comfortable than vinyl, and while it\'s showing some age, there are no splits or tears, and the patterns are correct for 1955. Two-tone door panels were finished with correct bright trim and hardware, while the dash has been painted a slightly darker contrasting blue. New carpets and a fresh headliner continue the theme, and the dash is full of gauges that are elegant in their simplicity. Three-on-the-tree shifting was standard equipment with the Blue Flame Six, and as a value-priced yet sporty entry, the 210 definitely delivered the goods. Even the trunk is neatly finished with a correct rubber mat and color-matched spare wheel with a vintage bias-ply tire. As revolutionary as the small block V8 was, a lot of Chevy buyers liked the economy and performance of the six. Today, you hardly ever see one restored to stock condition and like I said, it\'s very refreshing. Instead of traditional Chevy Orange like the V8s, this one wears the same light blue paint found on the early Corvette engines, and shows show-levels of detailing were done when the car was restored. Today it shows some signs of being driven over the past 15 years, but remains quite nice overall with correct equipment throughout. Reproduction hoses and clamps, a vintage oil filter canister, and a single exhaust system all add to its authentic look and feel. The chassis was restored, but not over-restored, and offers a recent muffler and a brand new gas tank against undercoated floors. Correct steel wheels with \"dog dish\" hubcaps now wear 205/75/15 radials, the lone concession to technology\'s progress. Strange to think that a 1955 Chevy hardtop could be considered \"outside the box\" but you\'ll definitely enjoy this Blue Flame Six 210. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Charlotte showroom.
