FOR SALE: 1953 Studebaker Champion

In 1953, Studebaker was redesigned by Robert Bourke, from Raymond Loewy\'s design studio. In 1953, Champions came in two- and four-door sedan models. The flashy Starlight coupes and Starliner hardtops also were offered in the Champion line. In 1954, the same models were offered and a two-door station wagon, the Conestoga, debuted. There were three trim levels for the Champion: Regal, Deluxe and Custom, with the Regal being the top trim level. This \'53 Champion Deluxe Sedan is a rarely seen two door sedan that is sure to be a hit with everyone at the next car show or cruise night. With its green paint with red wheels, the color combination is striking. The paint on the car is in very good condition with only a few minor scratches and dings. Nothing major showing anywhere on this very solid body. Both front and rear chrome bumpers have been rechromed and look great with a brilliant shine. The rest of the trim around the car looks equally as nice with no pitting. Inside, the reupholstered front and rear bench seats show no notable wear and are in very good condition. The carpet is older but overall in good condition with just some fading showing. Headliner, door panels and kick panels are all in good condition with no major wear showing. The steering wheel is solid with no cracking and there has been a custom wood shift knob installed. Under the hood, the inline 6 cylinder is in very good, original condition. It appears to be original paint under the hood with original chalk marks still on the firewall. Connected to the three speed manual transmission, the car goes down the road with good power and drives very well. The car is still on the original 6 volt system. The red painted wheels have correct Studebaker hub caps and beauty rings that look great. They are wrapped with white wall radial tires that are new all around and make the car drive smooth and straight going down the road. The current mileage shows 50,271 and the VIN number is GI262797.
