FOR SALE: 1952 GMC 150

If you\'re looking for something a little out of the ordinary, perhaps this 1952 GMC pickup will suit you. Nicely restored and easy to drive, it offers a freshly rebuilt engine and a lot of charm in a package that isn\'t a Chevrolet. The light blue finish probably isn\'t original, but with pickup trucks you could get just about any color you wanted, even in the 1950s. Bodywork is excellent, with straight panels and those curvaceous rear fenders that make these some of the most attractive trucks of the era. The finish has a soft gloss that looks right at home on the old pickup\'s sheetmetal, and I have to admit that the light blue looks fantastic. All the original trim remains in place, with much of it chromed or polished to like new condition, and the painted grille insert is finished in satin gray as original. A modern chrome step bumper out back adds the functionality of a trailer hitch, and you\'ll love the delicate, squared-off taillights. Inside, the custom brown leatherette interior offers an upscale look for the utilitarian pickup. The original bench seat has been fitted with a correct seat cover and it shows very little wear. The dash has been painted a matte finish brown to match the upholstery, and it completely transforms the interior from business-like to luxurious. The original gauges are still there, of course, and they\'re all functional. Three-on-the-tree shifting was actually optional on the \'52 GMC, and gives it an even more car-like feel from behind the wheel. Matching door panels, fresh weather stripping, and a handsome steering wheel round out the list of interior features. Power comes from the original and recently rebuilt 228 cubic inch inline-six. Torquey and smooth, the GMC powerplant was both bigger and more sophisticated than the Stovebolt Six found in Chevys, offering slightly more displacement, full pressure lubrication, and some extra horsepower. In fact, before the advent of the small block Chevy V8, the GMC inline-six was a popular hot-rod motor that could rival the flathead Ford in terms of performance. This one starts easily and idles with a pleasant mechanical sound, and easily pulls the truck down the highway at 60 MPH. The engine bay is tidy and clean, with fresh GMC Orange engine enamel on the block, and the original carburetor and air cleaner feeding it. Even the original generator and firewall-mounted voltage regulator were retained. Underneath, it\'s exceptionally clean and well-maintained, and offers a new single exhaust system that gives the six just the right tone. Rolling stock has been upgraded to a set of 17-inch Eagle alloys wearing 245/70/17 radials, but the original wheels are also available. Receipts are also included for the recent engine rebuild. A wonderful old truck with a lot of charm and a name plate you don\'t see all that often. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
