FOR SALE: 1951 Ford F1
1951 Ford F1 1951 Ford F-1 Bluberry Hill. This is your chance to own a real show truck. For sale is my 1951 Ford F-1 pickup that has been completely restored from the frame up. Over 3000 man hours were invested over the course of 2 years from November of 2003 through the end of 2005. This truck is truly a one-of-a-kind. The concept behind the project was a complete restoration of the vehicle, while adding modified components and style that complimented the original truck. This majority of the work on this project was done in my own shop, the exception to this being the custom stainless exhaust (Stainless Works) and the interior upholstery work. An extremely good friend, who is a retired mechanic and body man, was right there by my side during the entire build, and without him, this project would never have been possible. The truck was purchased in poor condition from a good friend who has since passed... It was in his memory that we restored and modified this truck to better than new condition. Every item on this truck was removed, leaving the bare frame. The front of the frame was boxed and stiffened and a Mustang 2 IFS was installed. The frame was sandblasted to white metal and primed and painted. The cab and body panels were either chemically stripped or media blasted to bare metal. All of the body panels on this truck are original. Before painting, several of the body seams were filled and smoothed. All of the body panels were primed with 1 coat of etching primer, 12 coats of filler primer (block sanded every 4th coat), 1 coat of chroma base black, 4 coats of Dupont Supersonic Blue Pearl, and finally 3 coats of clear. The truck was also custom pinstriped on the body and the frame by local legend Denny Didit. No detail was too small to address including custom touches like the stake pocket covers that were custom fabbed, fitted, and painted to match. Blueberry hill was featured on the cover of the Summit Racing catalog ( Sept-Oct 2007). A complete story of the truck was featured on a three page fold-out in the center of the catalog. Summit featured our truck as their 100th cover vehicle. Additionally, Blueberry Hill was featured inside Summit Racings Headquarters in the front window for a full month. In addition to the Summit Racing fame, Blueberry Hill has won over 30 1st place awards at local and regional car shows including over 10 Best of show awards. In 2007 Blueberry Hill was awarded 1st in Class, Outstanding Truck, and Outstanding Engine at the 2007 Cleveland Autorama. The truck was appraised in May of 2011 by a CAGA certified appraiser and given a grade of Strong number 2 The price is consistent with the heritage and condition of the vehicle. Modifications to the truck include the following: All new Automotive safety glass with 50 percent tint (not film tint) Completely new window hardware and rebuilt window and door regulators Electric windshield wipers Electric forced air defrost Dakota Digital multi-function gauges All new wiring, including a Painless 18 circuit fuse board with ATC style fuses All wiring hidden and routed through frame Mustang II cross member and spring hats welded in Ford Thunderbird power rack and pinion Gotta Show stainless power steering hoses Chrome Saginaw power steering pump by Borgeson and Mullins TCI anti roll bars Corvette master cylinder and power brake booster installed Billet aluminum remote brake reservoir Custom aluminized brake lines and braided stainless lines at each wheel Wilwood 13 front and 12 rear drilled and slotted brake rotors, cad-plated; with polished billet, 4 piston calipers and rear parking brake Custom built 9 Ford rear end with Currie axels, Strange 3rd member, and 3:70 Motive gears complete with Detroit Tru-Track locker, built by KZ Racing.
