Number Matching Peacock Green / Green 1949 Hudson Super Six Sedan. This Super 6 was purchased by a local collector from the Volo Auto Museum in Volo, Illinois and brought here to the Seattle area in 2013. It is a numbers-matching example of the hard-to-find Super Six model and has been well-maintained and updated to a superb, driver-quality level.This Super Six is optioned with most of the Commodore series trim, which was Hudson\'s largest and most luxurious post-war model during its production, and was equipped with numerous luxury features. The model\'s third generation, which lasted from 1948 -- 1952, featured an all-new step-down body style which promoted passenger safety and allowed for weight saving -- and added performance- through uni-body construction. This example is presented in Peacock Green over green broadcloth & vinyl upholstery. The car is powered by its correct, numbers-matching 262ci straight-six engine with Twin H-Power dual downdraft carburetors and 3-speed three-on-the-tree manual transmission. It also features dual rear-view mirrors, driver-side spot lamp, amber driving lamps, front and rear bumper overriders, and the car wears Coker Classic wide white wall tires and its original wheel covers.In an effort to maintain this Hudson\'s drivability, a previous owner upgraded and added a number of choice modern amenities. The car now features power steering, hydraulic power brakes with front discs, a modern fuel pump, and the car has been converted to 12v electricals. Inside, the car also features air conditioning, a hidden CD player with updated speakers and auxiliary temperature/volt/oil pressure instruments.This eye-catching hard-to-find Commodore 6 commands attention wherever it goes and is a favorite among all automotive fans.
