FOR SALE: 1949 Chevrolet

I don\'t know who Pedro is or anything about his tamales, but I do know that he had one heck of a delivery van. Practical and full of modern conveniences, this 1949 Chevy panel truck runs and drives even better than it looks. Panel vans are the ultimate SUV. Plenty of room inside for your gear, but as easy to drive as a pickup, they have always been a strong segment of the hobby. The New Design Chevys have iconic looks that have only gotten more popular over the decades since they changed the truck market, and the combination on the panel delivery is among Chevy\'s best designs. The pearl white paint practically vibrates off the sheetmetal, so searingly bright in the sunlight that you have to shield your eyes. Up close, the details are crisply rendered and expertly finished, with no real modifications to the classic design. Fender skirts are a classic accessory, and the orange stripe highlighted with black pinstripes adds interest. And no commercial truck looks finished without someone\'s logo on the side, so you may as well get to know Pedro. You\'ll also note the bright chrome grille is in great condition, the bumpers are snugged up to the body, and the door handles have been shaved for a smooth look. The interior is first-class all the way, with every modern convenience you\'d expect in your daily driver, plus a beautifully finished cargo bay that you\'ll think twice about throwing your tools into. Twin buckets were custom upholstered with white vinyl and tan fabric, so they\'re comfortable as well as stylish, and Pedro spent some cash to have his logo embroidered on both the headrests and the custom floor mats. A custom center console adds storage and a pair of cupholders, and with the tilt steering column, it\'s easy to get comfortable behind the wheel. Upgrades include A/C, power windows and locks, cruise control, and even a moonroof, so you know a budget wasn\'t a concern on this build. The original gauges have been rebuilt and there\'s a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo with 100-watt speakers. With reliability and performance in mind, a GM crate 350 was installed. Equipped with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and manifold, it makes an estimated 350 horsepower. It\'s nicely finished with beautiful cast valve covers and a matching air cleaner, but the real goal was functionality. A recently rebuilt TH350 3-speed automatic was fitted, and the front clip is from a Camaro, as is the 10-bolt rear. A custom air suspension allows 4-wheel adjustability, so you can lay low at shows or adjust for heavy loads in the beautifully finished cargo bay. Dual exhaust with glasspack-style mufflers gives it a snarky sound, and at night there\'s a built-in flamethrower system that is certainly one way to attract attention. New white whitewall radials have been fitted to the custom-painted wheels. Practical, yet incredibly eye-catching, this Chevy panel truck is a great choice for the rodder who just can\'t make up his mind. Call today!
