FOR SALE: 1932 Ford Hi Boy
When you take this 1932 Ford hi boy roadster home, be prepared to be the center of attention at stoplights, gas stations, and even at car shows filled with spectacular rods, because it is even more brilliant in person than it appears in photos. Recently completed and already a trophy-winner, this Heritage-bodied \'32 Ford roadster has been appropriately nicknamed \"Eye Candy.\" The base is House of Kolor\'s Tangelo Pearl, which is stunning enough all by itself. But then this rod took a turn and added custom flames surrounding the Gibbons grille up front and extending down the sides of the body. Those hot licks are a traditional look that contrasts with the bright paint to create juxtaposition of old and new that totally works. Finish quality is, as you might guess, off-the-charts nice and show-quality throughout, demonstrating immaculate prep on the fiberglass body, exacting gaps, and the kind of extreme attention to detail required to win trophies at very high levels. Those details include the flush-mounted LED taillights, smooth Gibbons lift-off hardtop, and trick little side-view mirrors peeking out past the windshield frame. You can forget traditional austerity inside, however, as this roadster is stuffed with a sumptuous tan ultra-leather interior that would make a Mercedes feel humble. Fiero bucket seats fit neatly in the cozy roadster cockpit, and every single square inch has been covered in matching tan hides, including the under dash area! Beautifully sculpted door panels demonstrate the finest leatherworkers\' craft, while remaining somewhat subtle to contrast with the outrageous paint job. A polished tilt column, Lokar shifter, and a full array of Ford Motorsports gold-series gauges were added to the mix, and the billet steering wheel by Wild Horse ties it all together quite neatly. Speakers for the AM/FM/CD stereo system were stashed throughout the interior and color-matched to blend in, and there\'s a fully finished trunk compartment out back. We\'re always happy to see a Ford engine in a Ford rod, and the built 302 under the Hastings hood has been balanced, blueprinted, and fitted with the usual speed gear. Dig the trick air cleaner setup which simulates a set of vintage side-draft carbs while feeding an Edelbrock 4-barrel atop a polished intake. The block was painted to match the body and the aluminum heads were painstakingly polished to stand out, along with a set of Motorsport valve covers. An MSD ignition lights the fires and a polished stainless exhaust system tucks up neatly underneath the body. The transmission is a Speedway C4 3-speed automatic with a 2500 RPM stall converter feeding a 9-inch Ford rear by Curry. Everything on this car has either been polished or painted Tangelo Pearl, right down to the springs on the coil-over shocks. Further blending old and new traditions, the Budnik Famosa wheels are big-n-little, with 15x8s up front and 18x10s out back, all wrapped in Dunlop rubber. Hand-crafted works of art aren\'t cheap, but this one is available for a fraction of its build cost. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom.
