This car was built in late 1958 for the then upcoming ABC-TV series 77 Sunset Strip. The series ran from 1958-1964, the car remained in Southern California until 2005. Most early Ford hotrods are based on coupes or roadsters. This Model A Sedan is powered by a 1953 Ford flathead V8 with Offenhauser heads, Fenton Headers, with a vintage 2 speed Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission. It is exactly as it was in 1958 and a period correct 1950s California Rod. Including cable-operated exhaust cut-outs under the car which can be hand operated inside the car. These rare cut-outs were created in the 1950s to give the engine more power when racing. It also has dual bee hive oil filters and coolers, spotlights, electric windows, moon gauges, an original 50s record player mounted under the dash and were used to play 45 rpm records when car was stopped. Just below the record player you have a modern CD player to play your oldies but goodies CDs. Has disk front brakes and rear drums. Added safety features are rearend stabilizer and seatbelts.. Other than that, it is 1950s all the way. Car was once featured in Car Craft magazine and is quite an amazing looker and gets alot of attention from rodders especially the oldtimers who remember the 50s with fond memories.
