FOR SALE: 1930 Ford Model A
1930 Ford Model A 1930 Ford Model A Hotrod Coupe Real Steel. Call 239 549 6311. Was built for fun and driving reliability from an outstanding collection of vintage parts. It captures that authentic 60s look and feel so well that it was chosen by NHRA for a special display at the 2011 Gator Nationals. It features an original set of 30 Ford rails, boxed full length and with a tubular center cross member. It has a vintage Frankland quick change with Studebaker bells, Ford end caps and a Ford spool. A set of spiral cut transfer gears give a final ratio of 3 70 to 1. A Chassis Engineering 4 bar and Panhard bar with Dutchman 31 spline axles complete the rear. The front suspension is based on an original 32 Ford axle, drilled and dropped by Mor Drop with split 32 wishbones and 48 Ford front brakes with Buick Drums. The Ford rims have BF Goodrich Silvertown Radials up front and real Firestone Dragster, 1000 15 tires in the rear.
The coupe has a very low mileage 61 Chevrolet, 283 ci with stock bore and stroke. Comp Cams supplied the valve train with an Extreme Energy cam, matching lifters, roller rockers, stainless valves with triple springs all on Chevy 305 HO Heads with vintage Offenhauser valve covers. The tri power intake is also vintage Offenhauser port matched to the 305 heads with Rochester 2 barrel carbs and Offenhauser linkage. Power is transmitted via an aluminum case Chevrolet TH700 R4 with a Z 06 lock up converter and heavy duty Corvette internals built for this application by Fourth Gear, Inc.
The outstanding steel 1930 Model A coupe body is original Ford with all new wood and a Vega station wagon roof. The body has been sealed in and out with DuPont Corlar and painted with Cessna Blue DuPont Imron. The coupe uses a 32 Ford grill shell with stainless insert and 32 Ford passenger car headlights. The magnificent white leather interior is rolled and pleated in the style of the 60s and finished with a Mercedes dark blue wool carpet. A custom banjo steering wheel was wrapped to match in white leather by the Wheel Shoppe. The 32 Ford roadster dash panel contains Moon Eyes gauges by Classic Instruments. This little coupe was built with the best components that we could find and intended to be driven daily and last a lifetime.
