FOR SALE: 1929 La Salle Model 328
The LaSalle brand was introduced in 1927 as a companion marquee to GM\'s premier Cadillac. The concept for the LaSalle brand was conceived by legendary GM stylist Harley Earl, his designs for this sportier Cadillac sibling were inspired by the rakish lines of European roadsters by Hispano-Suiza. The result was a slightly smaller wheelbase bolstered by high beltlines and narrow body sections. The look was finished with ample Cadillac-style brightwork, scripted grille emblems and a likeness of Robert LaSalle, the historic French explorer, as it\'s hood ornament. The LaSalle was an early success through 1930, but like so many other car companies at the time, LaSalle became a casualty of the great Depression-finally closing in 1940. Regardless of it\'s "little brother" comparisons with Cadillac, LaSalles are greatly reveared as exceptional pre-war luxury cars and are considered as full classics by the CCCA. This handsome 328 LaSalle town car presents well-documented in photographs. A local newspaper article spotlighting the finished car is included. The strong running V8 engine produces a respectable 86 horsepower. Exterior paint in Normandy Grey accented by Cairo green beltline and fenders is in good condition with light patina. The wool mohair interior is in very good condition along with chrome and dash.
